We’re excited to announce that we will be participating in two markets this month in celebration of Lunar New Year!

Our second market up is at Cafe Our Hours located at 557 Church Street, where we’ll be bringing our finest Asian-inspired baked goods and chocolate up north.

Event Details:
* Friday, January 31: Myself and Chachalate will be there from 7PM-11PM.

This year’s Lunar New Year menu features some of your favourite treats, along with new creations!

Our LNY Balikbayan box will feature 8 lucky pastries for you and your loved ones to enjoy and celebrate. Each pastry on our menu incorporates ingredients and shapes that hold special significance during the Lunar New Year. It will include:

Year of the Snake Eclair - Shaped like a snake to honour the Year of the Snake, this éclair is filled with calamansi curd and topped with matcha chantilly.

Black Sesame & Orange Cookies - These marbled cookies combine black sesame and orange zest. Oranges are traditional symbols of good luck and wealth, for their round shape and golden colour.

Pineapple Bun Cookies - A play on the popular dessert, Pineapple Buns, we are turning it into a cookie form by adding the cookie topping onto a brown butter cookie. The more circular pastries, the better!

Lychee Rose Cream Puffs - Cream puffs filled with lychee rose pastry cream and decorated to look like a real lychee, another round fruit and red to symbolize good fortune.

Green Onion Scallion Scones - For a savoury option, we took our favourite green onion scallion pancakes and made it into a scone! Scones layered with lots of scallions and parmesan cheese, brushed with sesame oil and topped with sesame seeds.

Pandesal Garlic Cream Cheese Buns - Another savoury option is our popular pandesal (traditional Filipino bread) filled with not too sweet cream cheese and dipped in garlic butter.

Black Sesame & Red Bean Burnt Basque Cheesecake - Inspired by a popular dessert during the LNY - tangyuan in red bean soup, our burnt basque cheesecake is infused with a black sesame, layered on top of a black sesame crust and red bean.

Ube Coconut Burnt Basque Cheesecake - A staple on our menu, our ube burnt basque cheesecake infused with coconut.

Woman-run. Hand-made. Asian flavours.

Bakerrae is a personal journey to Filipino flavours — drawing upon my childhood with a twist.

Toronto's food scene is seeing many pandemic pivots, but Bakerrae aims to explore new ground: you won't find anyone else topping croissant-like pastries with calamansi curd or caramelized onions in soy sauce anywhere else.
